Rise Queen

Do you not see yourself?

Why do you deny yourself your birth right?

Why do you allow the world to define you?

Why do you beg for recognition and acceptance instead of demand it?

Why do you dishonor our ancestors with the disregard of acknowledging your true self?

As your son, I seek you. Thirsting for your nurturing love, begging you to manifest the image, values and guidance I shall love, protect and honor in my mate. I hurt when you hurt. I cry when you cry, even when you don’t see me. I know you love me, but when I look at you I see a void in your heart. A void that cannot be filled by the men you bring in our home, the ones that give you kisses, yet hold you back from the pedestal he should inspire you to stand on. No…This void is that beautiful, powerful, outspoken, take no crap Queen who protects her dignity, her spirit, her everything with her life.

As your brother, I protect you. Praying you will watch me and see the example of the King you should seek. Poking and prodding you to the point of lashing out so you will never back down from anyone or anything. I shelter you from the princes not worthy of your title. Not worthy of your sacrifices. When you allow the world to control your mind, I speak to your soul encouraging her, reminding her of who she is and what she deserves. When you speak, I force them to respect.

As your mate, I honor you. I stand by you not in front of you. You do not follow me, you advise me and I, you. You see what I miss when I’m blinded. For the Kingdom you remain firm to the point of opposing me. Sometimes I forget I am not the only leader in this union, but with your strength and wisdom, I am brought back to a state of humility. Love is not the writhing of our bodies in a state of frenzied desperation for closeness. It is the mutual respect and purpose we share in our values of procreation, spiritual awareness, and probalance.

As your father, I guide you. I fight and retreat for a bond only we can share. You seek strength and I break bones and ego to provide it. I push you to remain in control, yet I fear when you furiously squander it. I fear your growth but, in your growth, you show me determination. You make me respect your individuality and I learn to trust you. When you falter, I yearn to pick up the pieces. When you’re angry, I remain silent. My compassion for you is absolute.

Do you not see yourself? God has given you purpose. Why do you deny it? Do you deny the sacrifices of Nanisca? Do you deny the steadfastness of Miss Virginia? Do you deny the reality of Queen Nzinga or Bilqis?

I offer to you proofs. The Bible, the Torah, and the Quran reveal the story of the first man and his Queen. God gave them all that they needed and she, as his mate, ruled right beside him. In Islam the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.S.) revealed the importance of the equality of man and woman. In Judaism, Queen Ester risked her life to save her people. In these proofs, Queen you were there. Learning, life giving, guiding, defending, loving…where have you gone? Deserving of royalty and reverence…where have you gone? Intuitive, loyal, and courageous my Queen, where have you gone?

Rise before the eyes of mankind and surrender the princess inside of you unto God. Accept your crown and live in your purpose. Greatness is within your heart and royalty is within your soul. See with your spirit and manifest with your love. Speak truth with your lips and build with your hands. No creation can take what you are. Rise and take your rightful place.
